Buccellati's iPhone case

Buccellati inspired by Leonardo da Vinci – One of the world’s most well-known names in haute jewelry, Italian brand Buccellati, known for its engraved gold, diamond and gemstone cuffs, collars, cocktail rings and earrings, has launched a new line that takes its signature to iphone and Ipad cases. The one-of-a-kind accessories are inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s solar illustrations. The cases are engraved with the signature of the house and punctuared with small diamond starbusts.

Created by designer Lucrezia Buccellati, the cases were unveiled on Wednesday at Baselworld, the world’s leading watch and jewelry trade show in basel, Switzerland. Since 1919, every piece coming out of the house has been designed by a Buccellati family member, beginning with Mario in 1919, followed by his son, Gianmaria, then the meanwhile 95-year-old Andrea and finally his daughter, Lucrezia.

“Being part of a family business like our is a true undertaking from an early age,” said designer Lucrezia. “Adopting the DNA of our artisanal traditions is the first step, but at the same time, I had to find my individual contribution that would eventually move the brand forward together with my father. I’m proud to assume the role in our family as the first female designer. Women think about fine jewelry differently, interpreting everything going on around them from art and film, to music and culture into their design rituals.”
