The eight finalists for the H&M Design Award 2014 have been announced
After a search in 12 countries and 30 design schools and after countless notes and pictures, finally eight designers have been selected. The group were chosen from 26 semi-finalists, studying at different colleges around the world, who were selected on unique creativity, technical skills and vision. They were all offered € 5000 to show their collection in London this past december. Here they were judged by an international jury, including designer Erdem, actress Michelle Dockery, Serene Wood from Vogue ans steet-style favourite Michelle Harper.
The winner of the H&M Award will have the change to show the collection at Mercede-BenzFashion week in Stockholm on January 28 and gets to deevelop pieces to be old at H&M stores this fall. In addition, the winner receives € 50.000.
Former winner of the prize include London College of Fashion graduate Stine Riis, who was recently been appointed creative director of womenswear at Surface to Air. The public also ha s a change to vote their favorit. The winner of the People’s Prize offers a three-month internship at Erdem’s studio. Look for more details on designaward.hm.com.
