Last Friday for the first time a fashion brand advertised via the instagram platform. Michael Kors chose a setting with macarons for his new watch with the text “5: 15 PM: #MKTimeless ‘ Pampered in Paris.
The comments on the picture are varying. One thinks it is a logical consequence of a free service, the other doesn’t understand why they show unsolicited ads. The ad also appears on the timeline of people who are not following Michael Kors on instagram.
It is not yet known how much Kors, who has 1.3 million followers, has paid for the advertisement. Instagram has announced that initially this cooperation will only be with brands that are already active on the social media channel.
