H&M hooks up with Jeff Koons – H&M is starting a new exiting project. The Swedish retailer is teaming up with the Jeff Koons, the famous American artist, known for his unusual reproductions.
Jeff Koons is going to work with the H&M‘s flagship store on Fifth Avenue and 48th Street, This huge sore of 57,000-square-foot fwill be designed to resemble an art museum. This project is overlapping Jeff’s ‘ highly anticipated overview of his work at the Whitney Museum of Art, starting June 27.
The works of Koon have been sold for as much as $58.4 million, but for H&M he has designed a handbag for a store price of just $49.95. The limited-edition Balloon Dog handbag will be sold in select American markets, and will also be sold at the Whitney during the exhibition.
“It’s one of our most important openings of the year,” said a store spokeswoman. “This is the first time H&M has partnered with an artist and sponsored a museum show in the U.S.”
