Karen Elson + Liz Goldwyn Redesign Dresses for Charity

Karen Elson, model/singer-songwriter and filmmaker Liz Goldwyn have let American designers redisign eighteen of their dresses and some accessories from their large collection of vintage. The result will be sold for charity trough Moda Operandi.

Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Olivier Theyskens, Jason Wu and Eddie Borgo were allowed to use their scissors and make the dresses in the wardrobe of the ladies completely their own thing. The AmericanVogue has released images in which Elson and Goldwyn are dressed in the items. Also designer Zac Posen can be seen in the photos.

All proceeds from the sale will go to Dress for Success, a New York charity that helps underprivileged women to business clothing for job interviews. ‘ Whatever one can say about fashion, clothing is a kind of harness and what we wear is a reflection of how we are doing at that moment in our lives, ‘ said Elson to Vogue US. The sale will end with a cocktail for charity led by the fashion director of the American Vogue, Tonnen Goodman, on January 13, in New York, where the remaining pieces will be sold at a private auction.
