Drawings made by “Kaiser” Karl Lagerfeld are going to be auctioned
January is going to be the month of the auctions. After the announcemend that the collection of Elsa Schiaparelli is going to be auctioned, also the sketches of the early career of Karl Lagerfeld will be under the hammer.
In the ’60s the Chanel-designer worked for the Italian brand Tizani, a fashion house that primarily designed costumes for television and film. The sketches that Lagerfeld made for this fashion house, will be auctioned on 11 January in Florida. Next to these drawings, also letters and photographs of Elizabeth Taylor (once a fan of Karl Lagerfelds) are sold. Karl once wanted to throw away all sketches, but luckely for the fans, Even Richards, founder of Tiziani saved them all.
