Personal Collection of Elsa Schiaparelli at Auction in Paris


The private collection of Elsa Schiaparelli, the legendary designer is going to be auctioned at Christie’s.

The famous Auction house has announced that they are going to auction the couture collection of Elsa Schiaparelli. They expect to sell the collection at about € 1.000.000.

In the collection are own designs by Schiaparelli, but also her favorite pieces by other designers. The auction is co-organized by Schiaparelli’s grand daughter, Marisa Schiaparelli Berenson, who called her grandmother a “great inspiration for generations to come”. Besides the couture collection, there also will be a number of furniture auctioned.

Elsa Schiaparelli was seen as one of the most influential people in the fashion world. Her work was known for surreal, eccentric and innovative designs. She also collaborated with artists such as Salvador Dali and Coco Chanel. The collection consists of about 180 pieces.
