Yesterday Pharrell Williams reveiled his latest fashion partnership, ‘Raw for the Oceans’, a collaboration with denin brand G-Star Raw and Bionic Yarn.
Grammy-winner Pharell Williams is famous for making music, but he also has another passion, and that is to save the environment. Yesterday in the American Museum of Natural History in New York he reveiled his latest fashion partnership, Raw for the Oceans, a long tem collaboration with the Dutch denin brand G-Star Raw and Bionic Yarn. In the museum, Williams has explained his ideas on the environment, particularly on the ocean. G-Star and Bionic Yarn have partnered to create a denim collection of plastic materials that worldwide have been taken from the oceans and coasts and have been gerycled.
About the collaboration says Williams, who is creative director of Bionic Yarn:”working with G-Star for me was a logical choice, because they have the reputation to push the boundaries of fashion and denim. Bionic Yarn wants results for the environment and because everyone has denim jeans in his or her closet it is perfect to show what Bionic Yarn can acieve”.
The line will be worlwide avaiable form august 15, at a select group of G-Star shops and will also be on sale online. G-star will also put material of Bionic Yarn in their existing lines. Bionic Yarn is a sustainably produced yarn and the compagny specialises in material and fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles, that are found in nature all over the world.
